As Above, So Below
It’s been a weird few months - from major changes at work to fundamental shifts in some of my closest relationships. Most of us get a little frantic when change rolls in, an unfortunate byproduct of the human condition.
I’ve found myself more dissociated than usual. I’ve been in a funk - the robotic one where I cling to each task and I’m never really present in the moment.
If you’ve ever experienced those seasons, you know how desolate and empty it can be.
Let me tell you, I’ve been leaning in. I’ve even thrown my self-care into my list of to-do’s with no real connection to the benefits of taking care of myself.
Diving a little deeper into why I’ve felt so disconnected, I quickly discovered a sense of loss lingering beneath the surface. In almost every area of my life, I felt like I was “losing” someone or something.
The truth - this was just another season of pruning. I didn’t “lose” anything. I have been purging some old ideas/wounds and naturally, this manifested itself in the physical realm.
“As above, so below”
I can look back at the last 4 months and see how every shift (that I counted as loss) was God removing the dead weight, pruning the non-flowering components of my life.
When we posture ourselves from a place of scarcity - we lose. When we posture ourselves from a place of abundance - we are always gaining.
This is growth. This is healing. This is where the change begins. All it took was a simple shift in perspective.
We tend to cling to what we know - what is comfortable. What a travesty. Everything we know about evolution requires change, growth, death, and rebirth.
What are you holding on to? What attachments are holding you back from the next phase in your evolution?
I meditated this morning, before my feet hit the floor. I WALKED to the gym, worked out, and walked home. I wrote for the first time in months - all before 10AM.
Your outer reality will always mirror the condition of your internal state. Be willing to adopt a new perspective, take the action - do the hard things.
I hope you all have a beautiful week.
